Pogo games not loading, freezing or showing a black screen?
Before changing settings, find out whether the failure affects one Pogo title, several titles or the sign-in page. That distinction helps you avoid treating a publisher-side game problem as a fault with your entire computer.
1. Record the failure before refreshing
Write down the game title and exact error. Note whether the loader stops, the screen turns black or the game opens and freezes during a round. If a round is still active, check whether leaving could lose unsaved progress.
2. Compare another game on the same account
After safely leaving the affected game, try a different Pogo title. If only Solitaire Home Story, Snowbird Solitaire, Jet Set Solitaire, Jungle Gin or Canasta fails, include that detail in your report. This comparison identifies the scope; it is not proof that your account or device is broken.
3. Check a supported browser and available memory
EA describes current Pogo games as HTML5-based and lists supported browsers by device. Compare your setup with its current requirements. Close unnecessary tabs or applications after saving their work, then reopen the affected game. Do not install Java or Flash because an unrelated search result recommends it.
4. Make browser-data changes carefully
EA’s guide includes clearing the browser cache. Cache is different from cookies and other site storage: read the choices before accepting a cleanup. Cookies may affect sign-in, and deleting site storage can remove local information. If the browser reports that a game window was blocked, follow the publisher’s site-specific instructions rather than disabling protections everywhere.
5. Check the date of any outage notice
Search results can surface older incidents. A report about one game last month does not confirm a current platform outage. Look for a matching title and date in the publisher’s announcements, then record what you already tested before asking official support.
What to send with a bug report
Include the title, device, browser version, approximate time, error wording and results of the one-game-versus-several comparison. Crop private information from screenshots. Account recovery and billing should go through EA, not a third-party troubleshooting phone line.
Do Pogo games need a Java browser plug-in?
EA describes current Pogo games as HTML5 games. A legacy Java applet problem is a different issue and should not be assumed to explain a present Pogo loading failure.
Does a black screen mean Pogo is down?
No. It describes what you see, not the cause. Compare the affected game, browser and current publisher notices before deciding what to do.
